The general premise of the game is to be assigned cards adding up to 21. Every competitor is given 2 cards. When a black jack player is given a nine or less and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the black jack player receives no Ace it is referred to as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt all players at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, every gambler is given the opportunity to make one of 6 decisions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a blackjack player announces hit me the croupier will give him another card, if the addition of that card causes the total greater than twenty one the gambler will have busted and that is the end of the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty one the player wins and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet achieved twenty-one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a blackjack player is happy with the hand they’ll hold. Once this has happened the dealer will display his/her hand and the player who has gotten twenty one or the nearest to 21 will acquire a win.
Doubling Down: A gambler may ask to double down which doubles the wager they have made. Once you have taken this action you can only receive one more card. The details of doubling down are often specified by the table or casino game rules so before gambling be certain you’re comfortable with the house established rules. If you’re competing at a web betting house this is usually very simple.
Watch for part two.
